Focus areas
We work with people coming from different parts of tech. Below are the main types of work and backgrounds we currently support in the program.
You don’t need to match everything exactly – the descriptions are meant to help you recognize where your experience or interests are closest.
Software & Engineering
These roles focus on building and maintaining technical systems.Professionals in this space work on developing software, fixing issues, testing systems and ensuring applications run reliably and securely. The work is hands-on and technical, often requiring strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of how systems work.
In this track, mentors help you understand what these roles look like in real teams, what skills are expected at different stages and how to move toward a technical career path – even if you’re still exploring where you fit.
Examples include:
Data & Analytics
These roles focus on using data to understand what’s happening and support decisions.People in these roles work with data, reports, dashboards and metrics to make sense of information and turn it into insights that teams and businesses can use.
In this track, mentors guide you through what working with data looks like in practice – how these roles differ, what skills matter most and how to build a realistic path toward a data-focused role.
Examples include:
Product, Design & Management
These roles focus on shaping how work gets done and how products evolve. These roles involve planning and organizing work, understanding user and business needs and helping teams move in the same direction. They often sit at the intersection of technical teams, users, and business goals, requiring strong communication, coordination, and judgment.
In this track, mentors help you explore what these roles actually involve day to day, how different paths compare and how to grow into positions that influence products, processes and outcomes.
Examples include:
Still unsure?
If you don’t see your exact role listed, that’s okay.
You’ll have space to describe your background or interests in your own words.

Natalia Chojnacka, IT & Data Manager
My involvement in the Women Go Tech program has reinforced my belief that knowledge only gains real value when it is shared. Being a Mentor is one of the most rewarding experiences – I have a genuine impact on others’ development, I see their progress, and I watch them gain confidence in the industry.

Valeria Dikonova, Product Designer at UpCloud
I joined Women Go Tech because I believe mentorship can make the difference between doubt and direction. Having someone to ask, challenge, and support you early on is invaluable, and I wanted to be that person for someone else.

Vitalija Bartusevičiūtė, Senior Consultant – Data Engineer
Mentoring often feels like a solitary experience, just you and your mentee navigating challenges without a broader support system. This program changed that experience completely. It introduced a dynamic, cross-track community where mentors and mentees could connect, share insights, and lift each other up.
