Why this tour

Ten years in, one thing is clear

Our community wants to meet, learn and connect in person. Many of you have already made it happen, creating meetups, discussion groups and online events without waiting to be asked.

This is your invitation to take the next step and host something real where you live, as part of our 10th Anniversary Tour.

As a Community Ambassador you host one community event during the anniversary tour. We help you shape it. You bring it to life.

Align with our mission of supporting women in tech
Be welcoming and inclusive

A panel discussion
Or something else entirely

Between 8 and 40 people depending on your city and format. Ambassadors will be selected by our Community Manager. We will help you refine the idea, give you clear guidelines and support you the whole way.

Who can apply

This could be you

✓You know your city well, even if you live just outside it

Never organized an event before? That is fine. Previous experience is welcome but not required. If you are motivated to bring people together we will help you with the rest.

Questions, answered

How many people are expected to attend?

Between 8 and 40 participants, depending on the city and the format you choose.

Can I organize the event with someone else?

Yes. Each event has one primary ambassador responsible for coordination but you are welcome to bring in co-hosts or volunteers.

Can I invite speakers?

Absolutely. If your idea includes guest speakers or facilitators we would love to hear about it in your application.

Can I request a budget?

We aim to keep events low-cost and accessible. If your event needs materials or other reasonable expenses you can describe them in your application. Budget requests are reviewed individually.

Will Women Go Tech promote my event?

Yes. Approved events are promoted through Women Go Tech communication channels.

Can I apply if I live outside the city?

Yes, as long as you know the city well and can organize the event there. Travel expenses are not reimbursed.

Can I organize more than one event?

For this initiative each ambassador organizes one event. Additional contributions will be considered individually.

How much time should I expect to dedicate?

Besides hosting the event itself, expect to spend several hours planning and coordinating with our team.

What if I become unavailable after being selected?

Let us know as soon as possible. Ambassadors are expected to commit to the selected dates but we will work with you to find the best solution.
